Managing Director, XIO Sustainability Analytics AS
Kajwan Rasul is Managing Director of XIO Sustainability Analytics, a research-model spin-off that develops EXIOBASE and derived datasets for assessing environmental impacts across global supply chains. EXIOBASE is one of the world’s leading environmentally extended input-output models, widely used by researchers, public institutions, financial institutions, and global corporations for economic and environmental risk analysis. Kajwan leads the development and commercialisation of decision-ready datasets, including spend-based emissions and impact factors, supporting portfolio-level climate and nature risk assessment. He holds a Master’s degree in Theoretical Physics from Durham University and a PhD in Industrial Ecology from NTNU.
From Nature Impacts to Financial Risk: Mapping Supply Chain Exposure at Portfolio Scale
Moving beyond ESG reporting: portfolio-level nature and climate risk analysis using environmentally extended input-output models (EXIOBASE)
- Portfolio-level assessment of financial institutions’ impacts on climate, nature, and the global economy
- Translating financial expenditure into GHG, land, water, and biodiversity pressures using IO models
- Mapping multi-tier global supply chains to uncover hidden environmental and dependency risks
- Input-output–based scenario modelling to stress-test portfolios under climate, nature, and policy transitions
- Aligning system-wide risk insights with TNFD and emerging nature-related disclosure frameworks
- How system-wide models complement asset-level data to support strategic allocation, engagement, and risk management
