Burak has a BSc and MSc in Environmental Engineering and has 10 years of professional experience in various sectors. He has worked in energy, advisory, and finance, including roles at the Habitabat Power Plant, Stantec, Mott MacDonald, and Industrial Development Bank of Turkey (TSKB). Currently, Burak is a member of the CNIS Team at Aviva UK IWR, where he contributes to developing solutions for integrating climate and nature considerations into investment strategy. This includes origination and portfolio management for investments related to IWR’s insurance, wealth, and retirement businesses. Prior to Aviva, he worked as a Manager in the Engineering Department for TSKB, where he took on responsibilities within various sustainability working groups and helped develop the Bank’s climate risk strategy and related methodologies and toolkits. During his time at Stantec and Mott MacDonald, Burak conducted environmental and social due diligence and monitoring studies for infrastructure projects across different sectors for MDBs and local FIs, including energy, health, transportation, and manufacturing.
