Having worked in a diverse range of financial institutions, Allan has led in the design, build, implementation and embedding of Financial Crime operating models, the remediation of various aspects of Financial Crime Frameworks, and the running of these models and frameworks in a Business-as-Usual state.
Allan is Baillie Gifford & Co’s Global MLRO (SMF-17 & PR-d) and Head of Anti-Financial Crime having been with the Investment Manager since Jan 2022.
As a Justice of the Peace (April 2011) and JP Advisory Committee member (Jan 2023), he contributes to Scotland's judiciary by presiding over criminal trials and advising on JP judicial appointments. This dual expertise in legal systems and financial crime compliance fosters an ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes and safeguard institutional integrity.
